Course Description

This module introduces learners to the science of climate change, the human activities that contribute to it, and its impact on agriculture, water resources, ecosystems, and human health. Through practical examples and local contexts, learners will explore how climate change affects their daily lives and discover simple actions that individuals, families, and communities can take to reduce risks and build resilience.

By the end of this module, learners will have the knowledge and confidence to respond positively to climate challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future.


Learning Objectives

By the end of this learning journey, learners will be able to: 

  • Define climate change and explain how it differs from normal weather variations.

  • Identify the major human activities that contribute to climate change in Ethiopia and around the world.

  • Examine the effects of climate change on agriculture, water resources, biodiversity, and people’s health.

  • Recognize how climate change impacts communities, livelihoods, and the environment.

  • Identify practical actions that individuals and communities can take to reduce climate risks and strengthen resilience.

  • Promote sustainable behaviors that support environmental protection and climate adaptation for present and future generations.
